Defrosting Tips
Properly packaged, veal freezes well. When it's time to defrost, never
defrost at room temperature. Always defrost in the refrigerator to
prevent bacterial growth.
-
Allow 4 to 7 hours per pound to defrost a large roast; 3 to 5 hours per pound
for a small roast.
-
Allow 24 hours for 1 to 1-1/2 inch thick packages of ground veal, veal for
stew, or veal for kabobs.
-
Allow 12 hours for 1-inch thick chops, steaks, or ground veal patties.
