Stanley Lobel is
president of M. Lobel & Sons, Inc., a gourmet meat shop in New York City on
Madison Avenue, on the upper east side. He has worked there 50 years. This shop
is like an institution in New York City with a devoted clientele comprised of
celebrities, prominent business executives and others who value the highest
quality prime meats and the best personal service one can find.
In the year 2001, the Lobels started a successful mail order entity
called Lobels of New York to accommodate these people living
outside of New York who desire the same high quality products.
Stanley has co-authored 7 cookbooks. He has been a syndicated columnist for the
Gannett Westchester newspaper chain and a columnist for the New York Post as
well as a contributor to several magazines. His expertise has been of value in
articles written up in New York Magazine, Food and
Wine, People Magazine, and The Wine Spectator to
name a few. He is a contributing editor to Saveur Magazine. He has
also appeared on several television and radio talk shows including Martha
Stewart Living.
He holds patents for two inventions. One is for an appliance for the treating
and aging of meat and the other is for a gravy separator.
Stanley is also a partner in S&L Realty, a real estate holding company.
He is happily married for 45 years, has two sons who are partners with him, and
four adorable grandchildren. His brother and nephew are also partners in his
